HPS Team

HPS master leadership

The HPS master programme is coordinated by Dr. Mathieu Berger, who is assisted by the HPS Administrative Officer, Mrs Emmanuelle Combe, and by the administrative team of the STAPS / Sports Sciences department on the Metare Campus at UJM.

Dr. Mathieu Berger

Associate Professor HDR, Director of the HPS master since 2023.
Exercise physiologist specialised physical activity and health, adapted physical activity, and physical activity in connection with cardiovascular risks and sleep.

Emmanuelle Combe

HPS Administrative Officer - Assistance with applications, enrolment, registrar and transcripts at the Staps Administration, Metare Campus (the J Building)

HPS master academic team

The core members of the academic team include the following members who, as a group, offer a wide range of research specialisations and a very high level of scientific activity. In HPS, these professors organise their respective teaching units, participate in HPS selection and defence committees, and supervise master theses and student research projects.

This team is seconded by several other experts, including outside faculty and professionals from other organisations, and contractual personnel such as post-docs, PhD students, or research engineers, so as to implement a varied programme spanning from theory to practical hands-on training.

Prof. Damien Freyssenet

Full Professor, head of the Deconditioning Reconditioning of muscle and Systemic Environment team at LIBM and of the EIPS master.

Exercise physiologist and biochemist, Prof. Freyssenet focuses on physiological and pathological factors in muscle deconditioning and the development of strategies to prevent or limit muscle deconditioning.

Dr. Jeremy Rossi

Associate Professor, Director of the IRMIS Regional Institute of Sports Medicine and Engineering on UJM's Health Campus.

Dr. Rossi, who comes from the sports equipment industry, is specialised in biomechanical modelling of the mechanisms of adaptation and control of human movements, notably in connect with the use of sports equipment, and in the development of new sports equipment models with industrial partners.

Prof. Guillaume Millet

Full professor, Senior IUF member, head of the ActiFS Chair on Fatigue, Director of the PATHS Graduate School on Physical Activity, Training and Health in Sports sciences.

Sports physiologist specialised in ultra-edurance sports, Prof. Millet studies the physiological, neurophysiological and biomechanical factors associated with fatigue in ultra-endurance sports, as well as in patients (neuromuscular diseases, cancer, ICU recovery, chronic fatigue).

Prof. Jean-Benoît Morin

Full professor, Director of UJM's Sports Science department.

Prof Morin, focuses priomarily on biomechanical models and methods for analysing human and sports locomotion and neuromuscular qualities of strength, speed, power and stiffness.

Dr. Thomas Lapole

Associate Professor HDR, Junior IUF member, Co-director of the LIBM lab.

Specialist of neuromotor processes, neural plasticity, and reconditioning, as well as muscle and tendon vibration therapy.

Dr. Alessandro Colosio

Associate professor, Junior Professor Chaire in Sports and Exercise Sciences at UJM.

Exercise physiologist specialised in Physical activity and health and physical activity abdd conditionning needs of the aging

Dr. Djahid Kennouche

Assistant Professor.
Focus on the assessment of muscle fatigue and neuromuscular function, particularly in patients recovering from intensive care or with neuromuscular diseases, and on developing new tools and protocols to assess fatigability in various populations, notably using electrical nerve stimulation and electromyography.
